VeesR: surgical immersion solution

About the project

VeesR is a Virtual Reality solution for advanced training in robotic surgery. The solution involves the deveiopment of an immersive 3D live streaming system that allows for a more complete and immersive educational experience.
During the innoVaction program, the live streaming system will be integrated into Vodafone’s infrastructure, enabling the live broadcast of robotic surgeries with high quality and fluidity. By wearing VR headsets, surgeons can experience the surgery live, as if they were in the operating room. VeesR offers an unprecedented immersive 3D view of the surgical field (previously only possible by sitting at the robot console), and simultaneously the surgeon's hand movements, the operating room with the robot in action (in 180/360 3D mode), and the ability to interact (via audio) in real-time with the surgeon performing the operation.

VeesR was developed based on an idea by Prof. Antonino Spinelli, Full Professor of Surgery at Humanitas University, to improve the training paths of surgeons, providing greater access to advanced training, reducing costs, and increasing the number of trained surgeons..

Impersive, winner of the 2024 edition of innoVaction, is a Milan-based company specializing in the development and production of immersive experiences using a “360° – stereoscopic 3D – full body – in motion” production technique.
